About
After graduating university, I began to work as a physician at Anesthesiology and Intensive care department. I learnt – beside others – how to treat pain and other symptoms in acute settings. And how (and when) to be invasive. After ten years of working there I felt a great tension. We were able to help substantial part of our patients in ICU settings, but the majority were people that we were not able to help them (or unable to help them enough). Intensive care was not good enough for them. It brought to many of them only suffering (or deep sedation and suffering for their loved ones). And prolonged dying. The opportunity to be part of set up a home hospice came that time. From 2015 I work still less and less as an Anesthesiologist and Intensive care physician and more in providing Palliative care, mainly at home settings.
