About

I have devoted my professional life to the care of the seriously chronically ill. Geriatrics became my basic field, in which I specialized in the field of frailty syndrome and dementology. I have been profiling and educating in Palliative Medicine since 2002, wmy colleague doctor Slama we founded the field (Palliative Medicine and Pain Treatment) in 2005, and (I already as the chairman of Czech Society t for Palliative Medicine, founded 2009) we transferred it to a separate form of the field after the department of algesiology. I fundamentally participated in the development of palliative care, profiled a sub-field of geriatric palliative care not only in the Czech Republic, I deal with health / social policy, leadership in health care, work as an experienced lecturer (clinical topics, leadership, communication skills, teamwork, conceptual health and social policy ).

My ambition is the change the health and social system in favor of a fundamental improvement in the organization and quality of care for the seriously ill patients. I perceive the high need for the development of comprehensive community care, which is why I am currently developing a unique project in the Czech Republic in the Třebíč region (where I was born and have a family). I have understood and developed in practice that systemic change requires both excellent clinical skills and communication skills, leadership and a tangible clinical / organizational example. In this respect, there is a unique opportunity to change the system in the Vysočina region (project Paliatr Vysočina, www.paliatrvysocina.cz), which is why I dedicate other years of my professional life to it.
